BIOGRAPY

By the grace of both my grandmothers, who were renowned herbalists in their community, it was customary in our family and culture to turn to common herbs for help when faced with illness, before considering going to the hospital if necessary. We embraced both natural and conventional medicine. I still have a great deal of respect for modern medicine. It is important to know when and how to use each approach. While I strongly believe that natural medicine is generally more effective for long-term use, as it tends to have fewer long-term side effects and dependencies on average, it is also easier to incorporate natural medicine in a holistic manner. Additionally, I appreciate the diversity of natural products, recognizing that everything good comes from the hand of God. Regardless of the healing method you choose, may you give all the glory to God, the ultimate physician.

As a result of my convenient exposure to herbalism during childhood, I have always had the tendency to first reach out for a herb or any natural remedy whenever I am suffering from any illness or issue that may need some medical assistance. Whenever I come across any new tea, plant, oil, and so on, I try to do research on its benefits. Initially, it was out of curiosity, and I would tell myself that I would appreciate it more if I knew the benefits. Over the years, I have also found myself making my own products. As I became confident with the knowledge of different herbal remedies, I used to recommend natural remedies to people, and they all came back testifying to their efficacy. The products I made for myself, I shared with friends. Often, people asked me what perfume I was wearing and where they could get it, and I would say it’s my herbal balm. They were amazed that natural products could smell so good without being overpowering. After the herbs or products I gave as gifts finished, those who received the gifts would come back to me.

When I finally made up my mind to start a herbal business, I then started taking more formal lessons in herbalism. I have a background in business and design, and I could never have imagined myself selling herbs. Growing up in Cameroon, herbalists were respected, but not admired by Christians. This is because they often prescribed herbs with new-age practices. Although everybody recognized the efficacy of herbs and used them normally, I never knew of any educated person pursuing a career in herbalism. But now the monasteries have herbal shops. It was hard for me to accept the fact that God might be calling me in this way, but it gave me so much joy and peace. I had to humble my heart and remind myself that every herb was created by God for our use. Sadly, the new-age religion is beginning to make better use of herbs than us Christians. I also started doing more and more research on herbs and healings in the Bible to convince myself. I was amazed at how much herbs are used in the Bible. Herbs were even mentioned, like frankincense.

All of my products are inspired by the demands and needs of the people I have helped along my way. Our products are functional and have good appeal. They have good taste, good smell, feel good, look good, and yes, they work! I will truly appreciate your feedback.
